Production: Magazine Cover

After receiving audience feedback from my peers about the quote at the top of my magazine cover that states "Most entertaining documentary film of the year", I have decided that the word 'entertaining' does not reflect the narrative in the appropriate manner. Due to this, I have replaced it with the word 'concerning', in order to catch the viewers attention through highlighting the topics covered within my film.

The following image shows a word gist that I have created showing what words were tweeted either individually, as a hashtag or as tagging an account, after the release of the trailer.

I was originally planning on having the background of my magazine white. However, I thought that it would be effective to have a similarity within the film poster and magazine cover. Therefore I decided to use the same colour scheme and therefore have a black background.

I firstly tried cutting out an image and superimposing it on top of the background, however I did not feel that it looked right. Due to this, I used one of my pictures that consisted of a black background within the picture. This can be seen through the screenshot below.

Production: Magazine Pictures

The following images show possible pictures which I shall use as the main image on my magazine cover. I made sure to get a range of pictures in order to have a lot to choose from.

 I then picked a few pictures and edited and enhanced them to make them look more striking and eye catching. This can be seen through the screenshots below.

Now I will have to decide which image to use on my cover. In order to come to a decision, I will ask both my focus group and members of the demographic.

I could not decide between the above two images as to what one to use for my magazine cover. Due to this, I asked both my focus group and those who would be a part of my films demographic in order to come to a decision. The feedback that I received suggested that the first image is inappropriate as there is a defined alcohol brand within the picture. However, they also stated that the other image is not high quality. Due to this, I have retaken pictures of the same model on the left without the involvement of alcohol.

Production: Magazine Layout

After deciding on a font, in todays lesson I have been trying to work out how to layout the cover. I am thinking of having the title quite large at the top and was considering having a film tape across the bottom. However, after discussing with my peers I have decided to remove it. The image below shows the layout that I was previously considering.

However, I then removed the strip and added text around the page in order to conclude on a layout. The image below shows my current desired layout for the magazine. I also decided to change the name of my magazine as I feel that the new one is more suitable for the genre. Screenshots of these two images are shown below. Due to this, the name of my magazine is now 'VISION'.
